Costa Rica Luxury Holidays

Thrills and wildlife aplenty

This small country packs so much in and is a great family destination

According to the Happy Planet Index, in 2016 Costa Rica was named one of the most satisfying places to live on earth - and it’s not difficult to see why. The country is known for its abundance of biodiversity, picture-perfect beaches, vibrant cities and its dedication to environmental sustainability. The laid-back locals offer visitors a warm welcome, and are known to greet each other with cries of ‘pura vida!’, or ‘pure life’.

Luxury hotels in Costa Rica offer guests fantastic scenery, first-class facilities and unbeatable comfort. You can choose from top-of-the-range spa resorts perched over cliff faces, eco-lodges surrounded by lush rainforest or thatched-roof beach villas. Each one of our hotels has been carefully handpicked and is serviced by attentive and friendly staff who are committed to making your holiday a truly unforgettable experience.

Incredible nature

Costa Rica is famous for its tropical scenery and dramatic landscapes. In fact, around a quarter of the country consists of jungle, brimming with wildlife such as the endangered spider monkey and rainbow-coloured quetzal birds.

If you’re looking to get back to nature, visit the Parque Nacional Volcán Arenal. A protected area, this national park is home to an active volcano, hot springs, lakes and wildlife. The walking trails around the base take you through lush forests and cooled lava fields. The Parque Nacional Chirripó also offers a wide range of trekking routes through rocky landscapes, vast grasslands and around tranquil lakes. You’ll also get to see Costa Rica’s famous cloud forests here, where towering oak trees puncture the misty sky.

Thrill-seekers can head to the gorges of the Rio Pacuare, which provide some of the best whitewater rafting in Central America. Alternatively, take a trip to the mysterious forest of Bosque Nuboso Monteverde to explore its creeks, springs and waterfalls.

For those who want to venture off the beaten track, visit the Nicoya Peninsula complete with its rugged mountains and magnificent coast. The Southern Caribbean - an Afro-Caribbean enclave with palm-fringed beaches - also enjoys a laid-back atmosphere and is well worth a visit. Make sure you try some of the fresh cocoa, coconut and coffee while you’re there.

Don’t miss the opportunity to spend some time on Costa Rica’s beautiful beaches. The most popular shorelines can be found along the Pacific coast, where you can take part in various watersports, including scuba diving and surfing.
