Highlights

Sydney is definitely a city you must visit at some point in your life. This vibrant urban hub is home to some breathtaking beaches, chic restaurants and some of Australia’s most well-known landmarks, including Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

One of the best places to start your exploration in Sydney is at Potts Point. This gives you convenient access to the beaches and makes a trip into the city quick and easy. You’ll find some amazing bars where you can enjoy a refreshing drink and take in the sights of the harbour. Try Larmont by Lancemore, which provides magnificent views.

Wine-lovers can take the two-hour trip just outside of Sydney to Hunter Valley. This must-see destination is the longest standing wine region in the country and is home to a staggering 150 wineries. The region is famous for its Semillon and also offers excellent shiraz and chardonnay. As well as the chance to sample the best local wines, there are some beautiful scenic views to enjoy too.

Heading to the upper most point of New South Wales, you’ll find Byron Bay. This little town is a popular haunt for tourists due to its magnificent beaches, fantastic surfing, vibrant rainforest, and its free and easy character. Here, you can take part in meditation and yoga classes to completely unwind and enjoy fresh, delicious food. If you’re travelling at Easter, the Byron Bay Bluesfest is a must, where you can enjoy a range of roots and blues music as you soak up the New South Wales sun.

Australia is known for its soap operas, and fans of these shows won’t want to miss the chance to take a trip to Palm Beach, where Home and Away is filmed. You may get lucky and find yourself there on a film day to enjoy a spot of star gazing, or if not, simply take in the gorgeous views on this great beach and capture some holiday snaps outside the Summer Bay Surf Club or Alf’s bait shop. Take a detour to the Barrenjoey Lighthouse for more stunning photo opportunities of the beautiful beaches below.

Down in the south, Mollymook is a pretty town by the coast that features a sumptuous stretch of beach ideal for novice surfers and body-boarders. You can also enjoy a dip in Bogey Hole, a natural rock pool. For some celebrity chef dining, visit Rick Stein at Bannisters and enjoy award-winning seafood dishes.
