Western Australia Luxury Holidays

Laidback Living, Rugged Landscapes

Explore the lesser visited side of Australia

For those who make the journey from the more popular eastern side of the country, the payoff is well worth the effort

Offering an alluring blend of rugged landscapes, beautiful coastline and laidback living, the Western Territory makes the ideal setting for a luxury holiday.

Highlights

One of the main highlights of the Western Territory is the chilled-out city of Perth. Here, you’ll find the attractions you’d expect from a large metropolis set in beautiful surroundings, which offers a much sought-after lifestyle for the locals and gives you, the visitor, plenty to see and do.

The city has a diverse appeal with many restaurants and bars to discover, as well as lots of must-see cultural attractions, including a selection of museums and art galleries. If it’s relaxing scenery you’re after, visit one of the tranquil parks, take a leisurely stroll along the Swan River or head further afield into the surrounding countryside or along the coast. The city’s public transport is outstanding and allows you to get around with ease.

Perth is a busy, urban hub with a range of modern architecture and innovative developments, including Perth Stadium and Elizabeth Quay, which have given what was once a traditional-looking city more of a sophisticated, cutting-edge look. Still, one of Perth’s main draws is its bustling beach scenes, where you can enjoy the frothing surf on the azure seas or simply unwind and top up your tan on the golden sands. The beaches stretch along Australia’s western shores for miles, offering plenty of secluded spots without droves of tourists spoiling the view.

Another wonderful destination is Broome, which finds itself nestled within the natural wonders of the far-western end of Australia and the Dampier Peninsula. Here, you’ll find the Indian Ocean’s brilliant blue waters and Roebuck Bay with its mangroves, shady creeks and distinctive mudflats. The Yawuru region is more than 2,000 kilometres (1,250 miles) away from any major city, offering the perfect chance to get away from it all and spend some quality time with nature. Don’t miss the chance to visit Cable Beach and experience its brilliant surf, romantic sunsets and camel rides on the sand.

Wildlife-enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the Western Territory is home to a whole host of indigenous fauna, including the iconic kangaroo and emu, as well as vividly-coloured parrots and smaller critters such as potoroos, quokkas and bilbies. The marine life here is magnificent too, including the spectacular sight of more than 30,000 whales making their way along the coast every year.
