Vumbura Plains Camp

Vumbura Plains Camp

Providing incredible levels of luxury in a stunning setting on the annually flooded grasslands of the Okavango Delta in Botswana, Vumbura Plains Camp offers unrivalled access to big game and a thrillingly diverse range of wildlife.

Beautifully appointed suites

Marvel at the panoramic vista afforded by your luxury suite, raised off the ground on a wooden platform, and sumptuously furnished in soft fabrics and local textiles. Take a dip in your private plunge pool, relax in your spacious 'sala', indulge in a soothing massage or join your fellow guests in the beautifully appointed dining and relaxation areas. Your culinary experience here couldn't be further from 'camping simplicity'; expect sophisticated dishes and a wonderful selection of drinks, all served in a setting with the most magical natural backdrop.

Fabulous range of wildlife

Locally referred to as 'melapo', Vumbura Plains is a mix of water and dry land. It is this variety of habitat which provides such exciting opportunities to see the parade of water-loving lechwe splashing through the reeds, rare sable antelope out on the dry savannah, and hippo and crocodile on the waterways. With a high concentration of leopards, lions, elephants, cheetah, wild dog and buffalo in the region, and prolific bird species too, you will be sure of an amazing all-round wildlife experience here.

Game drives and balloon rides

Relish the adrenaline of night game drives in pursuit of the big sightings, get close and personal with aquatic life on a mokoro boat ride, feel the African plains under your feet on a nature walk or, for the ultimate safari experience, take to the skies in a hot air balloon and fly over the Okavango Delta in peaceful silence to see what wildlife you can spot.

At Vumbura Plains Camp, you will fall in love with Africa's natural beauty and its incredible wildlife.
