The Majestic Malacca

The Majestic Malacca

The Majestic Malacca is deeply embedded in Malaysian heritage and history. By the river, where spices from all over the world used to voyage, is an original 1920s Straits mansion, packed with character and charm. Now, the restored building houses rooms, suites, a spa and restaurants to provide a refined, exclusive holiday experience for its guests.

Colonial charm and character

All rooms at the Majestic Malacca are luxuriously decorated, offering all the creature comforts you might want - and more. Teak four-poster beds stand proudly on dark wood floors, while full-length windows ensure that every space is drenched in bright sunlight. Sliding doors between bedroom and bathroom allow residents to opt for either open-plan living or separated areas. Traditional colonial style combines with attentive service and warm hospitality, for a stay with a genuinely Malaysian flavour.

Kristang, it’s gin o’clock

Malacca’s cuisine is unique, because of the variety of global influences it has seen. English, Portuguese and Dutch characteristics combine with Chinese and Indian flavours, creating a culinary style that is typical of this region. Kristang dishes are also featured on the hotel’s menus - originating from the area’s Malacca-Portuguese heritage. It all makes for one of the most exciting and exotic styles of Asian food. ‘Gin O’clock’ is a weekend offering at the Majestic Malacca, where every Friday and Saturday guests can mix and sample their very own gin-based cocktails under the guidance of an expert mixologist.

One of a kind

Spa Village Malacca is simply not to be missed, being the one and only spa on the planet to base treatments on Peranakan - or Baba-Nyonya - practices. These fuse Chinese Malaysian traditions to create a refreshingly different spa experience with a very particular style. Age-old Chinese medicine combines with Malaysian techniques and ingredients for a spa quite unlike any other, anywhere.
