The Gritti Palace, Venice

The Gritti Palace, Venice

Located next to Venice’s Grand Canal, The Gritti Palace is a historic hotel offering luxury accommodation and top-class service.

History brought to life

Rooms at the hotel contain rare antiques, precious fabrics and Murano glass lighting that brings to life five centuries of Venice history. All rooms and suites offer luxurious comfort and personalised room service. Though staying at the Gritti Palace transports you back to a bygone era, a range of modern amenities are available, including satellite TV, internet access, mini bars and climate control systems. The hotel’s suites offer an extra indulgent experience, with rich furnishings, large windows, polished terrazzos and parquet flooring, as well as state-of-the-art 46” TVs, premier sound systems and game consoles.

Eat and drink in elegant venues

The Gritti Palace offers a choice of elegant restaurants and bars. With views across the Grand Canal, the Gritti Terrace is the perfect place to relax and sample Italian favourites such as pasta, risotto and seasonal seafood. Alternatively, head to the Club Del Doge restaurant and enjoy delectable Venetian cuisine made with fresh, local ingredients. For after-dinner drinks, visit Bar Longhi, which is decorated with paintings by 18th century Venetian artist Pietro Longhi. On sunny days, tables are available outdoors, and live music is played at weekends. Don’t miss the chance to visit the Riva lounge, which is designed like a 1960s Italian yacht and serves cocktails and snacks.

Indulgent experiences

If you’re looking to relax, the hotel’s spa offers a variety of treatments and Turkish baths. Its two suites are available for individuals or couples who want to be pampered together. The hotel also offers cooking lessons at the Gritti Epicurean School, where you can learn how to make classic Venetian and world recipes. For those who want to explore Venice, the concierge service can arrange a number of excursions. The dedicated staff can help you find the best shops, guide you through booking a round of golf at the Venice Golf Club, or organise a tour of the city by foot, boat or helicopter.
