Nimmo Bay Resort

Nimmo Bay Resort

In British Columbia’s Great Bear Rainforest, discerning guests will find Nimmo Bay Resort - a deluxe hideaway in the Canadian wilderness. Located north of Vancouver, close to the coastline of Canada, Nimmo Bay Resort is the ideal place in which to get away from it all - and to reconnect with nature.

Waterfall or overwater

Set around a waterfall, there are nine cabins at Nimmo Bay Resort to choose from. The peaceful and visually stunning setting creates a calm retreat, in which guests can truly unwind. Forest cabins are positioned close to the waterfall, which provides clean, clear drinking water for the resort. Intertidal cabins are perched right above the water on wooden stilts, so you can let the gentle lapping of the water lull you to sleep. As well as the usual amenities, cabins come supplied with boutique teas, premium coffee, a range of soft drinks and even local red and white wines. Homemade cookies are also provided, as well as organic beauty and bath potions.

Sustainable, seasonal dining

Food is taken very seriously at Nimmo Bay Resort, with dishes being devised to showcase the produce of the local area. Sustainable fish and seafood, pasture-grazed meats and organic fruits and vegetables feature heavily on the resort’s seasonal menus. The resort’s own kitchen garden can be seen from the restaurant, and it provides all-year-round goodness in the form of shoots followed by flowers, berries and roots.

Wilderness and wildlife

However comfortable your room or delicious your dinner, there’s no denying that any guest of Nimmo Bay Resort will want to get out and explore. The surrounding wilderness affords opportunities for all kinds of activity, from wildlife adventures like bear or whale-watching to water-based sports such as paddle-boarding, kayaking or - for adrenaline junkies - tubing. Hike the Big Nimmo Trail, enjoy a class at our yoga studio, or a relaxing massage in our dedicated zones.

When to travel
As the second largest country in the world Canada has a varied climate. In general it follows a similar pattern to the UK, with warm summer, pleasant autumn and cold winter. Alaska is generally best visited during our summer, as large swathes of it are inaccessible during winter.
How to get there
Flights to the eastern side of Canada will take on average 7 hours, whilst those to Vancouver take just over 9 hours. British Airways currently fly to Calgary, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver from London. Alaska is only reachable indirectly via a connection elsewhere in the US, using British Airways and one of their codeshare partners.
