Mont Rochelle

Mont Rochelle

Nestled among the vineyards of the Western Cape Province only an hour’s drive from Cape Town, Mont Rochelle is an idyllic country retreat, where the jaw-dropping beauty of the stunning landscape is rivalled by the warmth of the South African welcome you will receive. Known as the French Corner of the Western Cape, the region is a wine and food lover’s paradise. Mont Rochelle offers the perfect base from which to savour the best.

Beautifully appointed accommodation

Soft natural hues and classic tones are complemented by sumptuous and plush furnishings. Thoughtful touches have been added to ensure your stay at Mont Rochelle is perfect in every way, and the discreet and attentive staff are always on hand should you need them. Breathtaking views of the valley and vineyards are a joy to behold from private balconies and terraces, which are the perfect place to relax after a day’s adventures.

Mouth-watering menus

Enjoy a delicious lunch in the glorious sunshine at the Country Kitchen, located right next door to the wine cellar for some fabulous wine and food pairings. A picnic basket can be prepared for those wishing to explore the grounds and vineyards of Mont Rochelle. In the evening the Miko restaurant will introduce you to some of South Africa’s favourite traditional dishes, and of course the very best wines that Mont Rochelle produces.

Activities to do

Take a dip in the heated swimming pool or pick a shady spot to relax. Alternatively, visit the spa for a little slice of heaven. If you are feeling energetic, visit the tennis courts, play a round of golf or hire a bike to explore the area. A hike up the opposite side of the valley can give you a splendid view of Table Mountain on a clear day. Not forgetting the wine tasting tours and gastronomic discoveries waiting to tempt the taste buds.

Each day you spend in this inspirational and memorable place will stay with you forever, and you will never want to leave.

Everything you need to know before planning your dream trip

When to travel
November to February is the busiest time, but March to April and September to October are popular. Whale watchers should visit July to October, whilst May to October is a good time for safaris – it can get cold on game drives so pack a fleece.
How to get there
Your holiday will begin with a British Airways or Virgin Atlantic flight from Heathrow to Johannesburg, or British Airways to Cape Town – the average flying time about 11 hours, although as there is only a 1 hour time difference there’s no tedious jet lag
