Mahali Mzuri

Mahali Mzuri

Perched in the uplands of the Olare Motorogi Conservancy, Richard Branson’s Kenyan resort offer unbeatable opportunities for face-to-face wildlife encounters. Comprising only 12 tents and a main dining room/camp centre, this boutique safari resort is perfect for groups, solo travellers and couples alike.

Unique tent accommodation

Mahali Mzuri tents are unlike any other. These robust structures feature tarpaulin roofs and wooden walls and floors. Enjoy ‘sundowners’ on your own private terrace. Watch the sun go down over the spectacular Masai Mara. Vast windows afford panoramic views across the plains, and rooms are tastefully appointed with furnishings made from local materials. Dinner is prepared using local ingredients and inspired from pan-African cuisine. You might eat in the Dining Tent, have dinner served on your terrace or even organize a meal in the bush, under the night sky.

Memorable game drives

Animals can often be seen roaming freely near the resort. Depart on one, or both, of the daily game drives to explore the Olare Motorogi Conservancy further. Here, you can expect to come across buffalos, giraffes, elephants, zebras and maybe some elusive leopards. Knowledgeable guides take you out to help you to spot the animals. If you visit between July and September, you have every chance of seeing one of the great moderns wonders of the world; the great migration.

Utmost relaxation

After a day spent galloping around the reserve, you will want to unwind. All rooms come fully equipped with Wi-Fi and iPod and iPad docking stations. Book a spa treatment; full body experiences are available using massage, essential oils and crystal energies. Alternatively, unwind by the pool with a gin and tonic and absorb the remarkable surroundings. Mahali mzuri means ‘beautiful place’ in Swahili. After a few moments here, you will soon see why this resort was given this name.
