Loldia House by Governors Camp

Loldia House by Governors Camp

Conveniently situated only two hours from the capital Nairobi, this luxury accommodation is a great place from which to base your safari holiday. Presenting a stunning opportunity to stay in the imposing Great Rift Valley, Loldia House embodies Kenyan hospitality at its most attentive. Offering a range of cottage accommodation set around an old farmhouse, it is up to you to decide whether you prefer to be perched atop a mountain for dramatic views of the landscape or settled lakeside to watch as wildlife roam by.

Old world charm with contemporary accents

Spacious and airy rooms are bedecked with carved wood floors, four-poster beds, flowing neutral-coloured linens and Kenyan fabrics. All cottages are ensuite and Wi-Fi is available in the main areas. A newly built infinity pool nestles among the fig trees, which is the perfect place to unwind from your day’s activities.

Wildlife encounters

Loldia House sits amongst a nature reserve where animals roam freely. In the evening, hippos come to the watering hole for a refreshing drink. Further afield, expect to see elephants, giraffes, gazelles, buffalos and flamingos as you head out with your knowledgeable guide on a game drive. Excursions into the valley set out daily. Taking a picnic with you, you can make a day of it.

Tasty Kenyan cuisine

Breakfast and lunch are included in your stay. Served alfresco amongst the fig trees and overlooking the lake and nearby Mount Longonot, enjoy hot or cold breakfast and buffet-style lunch. Dinner, hosted in the dining room, serves a la carte Kenyan specialities. Catch up with other travellers to exchange stories about your day’s adventures, and sip a cooling beer or gin and tonic as you watch the sun go down over the lake. A relaxing stay at Loldia House will have you unwinding in no time.
