Little Kulala Lodge
Little Kulala Lodge is in Namibia on the dry Arub riverbed, part of the Kulala Wildlife Reserve. This Lodge offers many ways to explore the Namib Desert, walking, driving, quad biking or soaring high in a hot air balloon.
Inspired remote living
Guests stay in thatched “kulalas” that sleep up to four people. They have their own private pools, en-suite bathrooms and a rooftop star bed for sleeping under the starry skies. There are only 23 kulalas, so Little Kulala Lodge is never crowded.
Climate-controlled with outdoor showers, private balconies and rooftop skybeds, the interiors of the kulalas contain pure linens, cotton and mohair dyed with natural vegetable dyes.
Days can be actively spent exploring the desert environment, but nights are for peaceful relaxation under the gorgeous African skies. The entertainment area has a library, wine cellar and craft boutique. Dining is a spectacular event under the stars.
Wildlife
Kulala is the place to see desert-adapted wildlife. Expect to see spotted hyenas, bat-eared foxes, porcupines, wolves and more.
Little Kulala was once used by subsistence goat farmers and much of the wildlife disappeared. In 1996, Wilderness Safaris started to rehabilitate the area and now the land and wildlife have returned to their former glorious condition.
Be sure to see the nearby Big Daddy, which is the tallest dune in the area at 325 metres high. Trek to the top from where you can look down on the Deadvlei area.
Remote yet luxurious
