Hotel de LEN is the reincarnation of historic Hotel Impero, in the centre of Cortina d’Ampezzo and its guiding principles are sustainability and respect for the environment, together with a philosophy inspired by the ‘Rules of Ampezzo’, which is all about balancing the relationship between man and nature.
It starts with raw materials inspired by nature. Hotel de LEN’s 22 beautiful yet simple rooms and suites are carved in swiss pine but also old fir, a sustainable, renewable and functional element which is also known for improving the quality of sleep.
The term de LEN translates as ‘of wood’ in Ladino, a neo-Latin language spoken in the Dolomite communities and it’s a tribute to the artisans who have handed down the precious art of woodworking.
The philosophy of local materials and producers inspires the cuisine which also tells stories of the land and the mountains, with cocktails that create harmonies between spirits, wild herbs and woods. Enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner in the comfortable and welcoming Restaurant and Bar.
The SPA at the de LEN explores every aspect of wellbeing from treatments to tailor-made experiences inspired by the territory. This is an opportunity to take care of yourself while respecting the land and its people.

When to travel
There's no best time to visit the Dolomites; the region delights all year. July to September are the warmest but temperatures are cool enough for an active summer break. There's snow December to April and temperatures can drop to -10°C, but the dry air makes this surprisingly comfortable.

British Airways offers direct departures from London to Milan and Verona, with low cost airlines offering alternative timings and direct departures to Milan and to Verona from a variety of UK airports.
