Hoanib Valley Camp
Hoanib Valley Camp is one of the best places to spot lions, giraffes, elephants, rhino and mountain zebras - not only in Namibia, but in the whole of Africa. This luxury camp is the result of a joint venture between the Giraffe Conservation Foundation and the local community. The secluded, stylish camp allows visitors to fully explore and experience the untamed desert environment. Six rooms accommodate guests whose days will be spent tracking animals - including a number of endangered species - trekking and hiking, and exploring the beautiful surroundings.
A scenic and special place
Hoanib Valley Camp is located deep in Kaokoland, one of the most scenic areas in a country packed with breathtaking landscapes. This part of north-west Namibia has plenty for visitors to see, from vast sand dunes and majestic mountains to picturesque open expanses of desert. The entire region is rich in unique flora and fauna, as well as the settlements of the nomadic Himba people. Namibia offers some of the most remote environments on the planet, and to experience this makes for one of the most memorable holidays imaginable.
A journey of discovery
Staying at Hoanib Valley Camp is to embark upon a rich and colourful journey of discovery. The arid landscape provides a stunning backdrop to everything visitors do, from sipping a gin and tonic sundowner on the veranda to spending time with the Namibian people who thrive in this area and climate.
Guests can learn about the culture of the Herero people, or take a guided walk into the African bush to examine the native wildlife. Thanks to the involvement of the Giraffe Conservation Foundation, visitors can also find out about the research and conservation activities taking place in the Kaokoland wilderness. The camp has six luxurious tents with every comfort that the discerning traveller could wish for. The camp also welcomes children aged six or above.
