Chamba Camp Thiksey

This unique location offers the ideal accommodation for the type of traveller who seeks adventure, yet also appreciates the little luxuries in life. Chamba Camp is situated at Thiksey Monastery in the heart of llama land in Ladakh.
Glamping it up
Every tent at Chamba Camp is generously proportioned and contains a bedroom and private bathroom, plus an outdoor veranda. Large windows are a feature of all tents, affording each guest magnificent views over the stunning surroundings. When weather conditions demand, air conditioning or heating are also supplied to ensure complete comfort. Top-of-the-range Presidential Suite Tents include an additional wing - this allows for two extra beds, one bed with a seating area or an entirely separate lounge room.
Delicious outdoor dining
While staying at Chamba Camp in Thiksey you can partake in some truly delicious dining experiences. Main meals are served in the climate controlled, tented restaurant, or you can take advantage of the chance to savour an outdoor barbecue. Here you can watch the chefs prepare your dishes before you eat, then afterwards relax on the wooden deck while you take in a cultural performance. In terms of private dining, there is also the Fish Pond Deck where children can feed the rainbow trout before tucking into a freshly prepared feast.
From archery to birdwatching
All sorts of one-off experiences are open to guests at Chamba Camp, Thiksey. You can take a cultural or monastery tour, or for more active guests there are cycling and hiking tours too. Adventurous types will enjoy river rafting on the River Indus, or perhaps you’d rather take in a game of polo - a favourite sport of Ladakh’s royal family. You could also try your hand at archery, or go birdwatching to see if you can spot a Rosefinch, White Winged Redstart or Yellow Citrine.
