When to travel
Winters in Sicily are generally cooler with a higher chance of rain. During April to May the temperatures are warming which is ideal for touring. June to August are the warmest months (August can be busy with Italian holiday makers) with September and into October being a lovely time of year to visit. Flights to Sardinia and hotel opening dates mean you’ll only visit between mid-May to early October when there is the best chance of sunshine and lowest chance of rainfall.
How to get there
British Airways fly to Catania daily from Gatwick with low cost airlines offering alternative timings and direct departures from Gatwick, Luton and Manchester. Low cost carriers also fly direct to Palermo from Gatwick and Stansted, and Trapani from Luton and Manchester.
