Villa D'Este

Villa D'Este

An ancient, 16th century palace nestled on the south shores of Lake Como, Villa D'Este has a long history of accommodating international royalty. Since 1873, the hotel has opened its doors to the general public as a fabulous 5 star resort. Set among sumptuous gardens - in which hide statues, ancient plants and fountains - the award-winning Villa D'Este, Lake Como, blends old world charm with sophisticated style. Rooms are sumptuously adorned in the renaissance style, and each has its own unique character and luxurious amenities.

Dining in Style

Villa D'Este has several drinking and dining options. The main restaurant, Veranda, is known to be one of the finest places to eat in the area and offers diners wonderful views of the gardens, an exquisite menu of traditional Italian cuisine and an impressive wine list. Less formal dining options can be found at the Grill, Il Platano or on the Sundeck. Bar Canova is a splendid bar serving light bites, afternoon tea and cocktails, while the Terrazza Bar and d’Este Club features live orchestral music on Saturdays.

Activities Galore

Villa D'Este boasts not one, not two, but three glorious swimming pools, including the iconic floating pool on the lake and one designed especially for children. Guests can also make use of the Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room facilities.

For those who fancy something more active, the concierge is on hand to organise windsurfing or paddle boarding lessons on the lake. Adrenaline-junkies can also enjoy water skiing or speed boating on the water. For those who want to explore the area, regular steamboats transport passengers to the other picturesque towns dotted about the lake, including the nearby Como.

Villa D'Este also has its own putting green, which is open daily if you want to get a round in before you start your day.
