Be prepared before you go
How to get there
The only way to access this island paradise is by air, but thanks to the popularity of Barbados as a holiday destination, flights are frequent and comprehensive. For example, both Virgin Atlantic and British Airways run flights at least daily from Gatwick Airport. There are also regular services from a range of other airports across the UK, including Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Cardiff. Direct flights take approximately 8 hours 30 minutes, and you have the option to upgrade to premium cabins to ensure you start and end your holiday in style.
When to travel
To enjoy the very best of the Caribbean weather, aim to visit Barbados between December and June. You can expect a balmy average temperature of 29°C during these months, as well as the lowest levels of humidity and rainfall. This makes the winter and spring the ideal time to soak up the sun and explore this exotic island.
