Punta Islita

Punta Islita

Punta Islita is a Costa Rica Hotel, an eco-friendly luxury beach resort that offers amazing landscapes and a warm Costa Rica welcome. Spend your day lazing by the pool, swimming, adventuring or learning new skills, and your evenings relaxing and enjoying sumptuous food.

Suites or villas

Accommodation is in spacious suites or villas. The design is inspired by local culture with local art and Spanish colonial influences. Rooms are bright and spacious with either ocean cove or forest views. Facilities include outside terraces with hammocks, complimentary internet, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities and cooking equipment. Villas range from one to three bedrooms suitable for couples, families and groups.

Fine-view and casual dining

Enjoy fresh Costa Rica cuisine at the Pacifico restaurant cooked with flair and zest from local ingredients. Los Cocos Beach Club has a pool and a laid-back casual venue for drinks, snacks, pizzas and fresh seafood. Both eating places enjoy fine views of the cove and forest.

The private dining experience brings exquisite food to an intimate torchlit table for two where you can feast on fine food and wine to the sound of breaking waves.

Exploration

Punta Islita does not disappoint with activities either. Take an eco-adventure tour by foot, on horseback or ride the exhilarating zip line. Learn new skills with art and cooking lessons. Watch sea turtles and visit the Red Macaw recovery centre where biologists are saving the fragile ecosystem. Kayak down the Ora river to see monkeys and brightly coloured birds. Visit local towns to shop for local crafts and food.

Punta Islita is for people who love to be by the beach, want to explore a beautiful natural environment and get to know the local culture and cuisine. It is a place for people who want all this plus luxury accommodation and friendly, attentive service.

This is an off-the-beaten-track beach escape with a difference. Hotel Punta Islita’s signature Authentic Costa Rica program includes complimentary ecoadventures such as horseback riding and monkey quest as well as cultural projects such as art sessions and cooking lessons which enable you to fully connect with this beautiful country. The hotel has fostered strong ties with its neighboring communities through outreach initiatives such as the creation of the Islita Art Museum and development of New Islita School it all makes your stay more meaningful and memorable. You can also enjoy more usual upscale resort facilities; a lovely infinity-edge pool, close to the viewing deck of Pacífico Restaurant and Harry’s Bar, surely one of the best pool bars in the world.

When to travel
Although a relatively small country, Costa Rica’s climate varies from its Pacific Coast to its Caribbean Coast which means there is quite a wide season of travel. For the Pacific Coast, December to April is the driest and brightest, while on the Caribbean side March to August is the best time. Avoid travel in September and October when rainfall is at its heaviest. November sees slightly less rainfall, and can be a good option as national parks can be a little quieter than the peak seasons.
How to get there
British Airways fly direct to San Jose, Costa Rica’s capital up to three times a week from London Gatwick, flight time is around 11 ½ hours. Indirect options via Europe or the US are also available, including from regional airports within the UK.
