The UK Government implements a traffic light system regarding entering England from international destinations. Requirements for entry into Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland may differ, contact us for further information or check the requirements with the relevant country authority
The system works along the following lines:
Green:There will be no quarantine requirement on returning to the UK, but travellers must take a pre-departure test, as well as a PCR test on return to the UK
Amber:Non vaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers will need to quarantine for 10 days upon returning to the UK, as well as taking a pre-departure test and two PCR tests on their return (on day 2 and day 8). There is also the option to pay for an additional 'Test to Release' test on day 5 which will allow you leave quarantine earlier. Vaccinated travellers in the main will need to test before arriving the UK and on Day 2, but will not need to quarantine. Please be aware however that some countries, although on the Amber List will still see vaccinated travellers required to quarantine
Red:Travellers will be required to pay for a 10-day stay in a managed quarantine hotel, as well as a pre-departure test and two PCR tests
While we try our best to stay on top of these requirements and offer you advice on this, it is the travellers responsibility to ensure you are fully aware of the requirements, and ensure you are compliant with these requirements. We therefore strongly suggest that you keep abreast of the requirements by checking regularly on the Government Covid-19 Travel Regulation Updates Website
It is also important to bear in mind that these guidelines relate to the requirements of returning to the UK, and do not relate to the requirements of individual governments of the countries you may be travelling to. Just because a country is on the UK government Green List it doesn't mean travel is possible to that destination. The regulations regarding these are extremely complex and also constantly changing, we therefore strongly advise speaking directly to one of our team, who will be able to provide you with accurate and up to date advice.
