Hotel description
A true Maldivian luxury experience, this 'Small Luxury Hotel of
the World' sits on its own crescent-shaped island flanked by white
sand beaches and an off-shore coral reef. And although its 43
villas are buttressed by a whole range of leisure facilities, only
5% of the 1.4 kilometre-long island has been developed, leaving the
remainder in its pristine natural state. In fact, the Island
Hideaway is one of only three resorts in the Haa Alifu Atoll, its
waist-deep lagoon stretching as far as the eye can see.
Yet despite this tropical seclusion, the property remains very
aware of current trends and its villas rank amongst the largest in
the Maldives. Tucked into the greenery and scattered along the
beach, they stand some 25 to 30-metres apart and offer lots of
privacy, personal butler service and stunning views over the
lagoon. Funa Pavilions and Raamba Retreats have their own gardens,
Dhonakulhi Residences feature outdoor Jacuzzi Splash Pools, whilst
the Jasmine Garden Villas boast swimming pools and 'floating'
dining pavilions. The Hideaway Water Suites also come with private
treatment rooms; the 3-bedroom Hideaway Palaces the epitome of
sophisticated island living complete with their own infinity
pools.
Dining information
Two beachfront restaurants present anything from Maldivian and
Asian cuisine to international or Japanese fare, whilst the
in-villa and sandbank dining opportunities are tailor-made for
romantics.
Amenities
Recreational facilities range from water sports, tennis courts
and a sports complex to a PADI dive school and Hideaway Spa by
Mandara. The kid's club ensures younger guests also have a whale of
a time, whilst the environmental research centre underlines the
resort's commitment to protecting its sublime surroundings.
