Hotel description
The Caribbean's first 'Aman' is secreted away on the undeveloped
west coast of Providenciales. It's got a suitably exotic backdrop
thanks to powdery white sands, low-rise vegetation and the offshore
reefs of the Northwest Point Marine Park, yet it's the dramatic
contemporary architecture that will be sure to blow you away.
Jean-Michel Gathy's low-rise 'pavilion' style has been used
throughout the public buildings and guest quarters, his ornamental
ponds and black volcanic stone endowing spaces with Indonesian-like
serenity; his glass-panelled walls bringing the tropics right
inside the rooms. The timber shingled pavilions have been appointed
in a striking natural palette, and there's lots of terrazzo and
teak, oodles of outdoor living space and even infinity-edge pools
if you plump for one of the villas.
