Singita offers four safari lodges in two private game reserves in the Kruger National Park. Choose between Ebony Lodge or Boulders Lodge in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve or Lebombo Lodge or Sweni Lodge in the
unexplored Lebombo concession bordering Mozambique. All are delightfully intimate, all boast standards good enough for Relais & Châteaux and all offer highly informative game drives supplemented by a gym and
bush spa.
BOULDERS LODGE
An architectural masterpiece at the source of the Sand River, its use of stone and thatch combining with its muted colours to reflect all the sensibilities of Africa. At its heart lies an oversized lounge where guests meet for drinks, the deck and dining room perfect for lunches and candlelit dinners. Of course everyone finds themselves hard-pressed to leave their suites, all twelve of them exciting exercises in contemporary African style, the private pools their pièce de résistance.
EBONY LODGE
Ebony lies more towards the middle of the Sand River, its classic thatch and timber design echoing the colonial style of a bygone era. An elegant, yet homely ambience is evoked throughout, its public areas featuring open fireplaces, warm colours and local artifacts; its twelve suites boasting anything from four-posters and claw-foot tubs to working fireplaces and private pools. Dining by lamplight on the timber deck overlooking
the river is a fitting end to the leisurely days here.
LEBOMBO LODGE
A tour-de-force of glass, water, steel and timber high above the land rather than on it. A natural extension of its wild surroundings, the fifteen cliffside rooms are accessed along walkways that snake their way amongst the tall euphorbia trees. Light, minimalist and at one with nature, their wall-to-wall glass windows and timber leisure decks offer mesmerising views over the N’wanetsi River and are wonderfully relaxing bases from which to experience the spectacular wildlife of
this part of South Africa.
SWENI LODGE
Constructed on stilts and the smallest and most tranquil of Singita’s designer lodges. The six ultra-luxurious hides are tucked away amongst the trees on the banks of the Sweni River, their predominantly sombre colour
schemes lifted by flashes of bright green, their African styling counterpointed by carefully-chosen contemporary pieces. This creative decor also extends to the public areas, the deck and dining area overlooking the river and serving African fusion cuisine that goes very well with the excellent wine cellar.
