Settlers Drift offers the perfect combination of a tented safari experience and five star luxury.
The lodge is located in a remote part of Kariega Game Reserve on South Africa’s malaria free Garden Route, thus forming a natural extension to Cape Town. It’s surrounded by thousands of hectares of Eastern Cape wilderness that’s home to a multitude of African wildlife including the famous Big Five as well as hippo, giraffe, zebra and birdlife.
Settlers Drift consists of nine spacious and beautifully appointed tented suites, each with indoor/outdoor showers and secluded viewing decks offering timeless views of the Bushman’s River. It's easy to picture the 1820 settlers driving their wagons across the river. Facilities include restaurant, bar, wine cellar, library, spa treatments, boma and curio shop.
A typical day here might begin with tea and coffee and a snack before an early morning game drive followed by a hearty brunch. Then you might enjoy a bush walk or a spa treatment and have a swim or relax and soak up the view from your private deck. Embark on an evening game drive and sundowners before you return to the lodge to dine in either the boma or the restaurant.
