The Sandpiper

This intimate ‘Small Luxury Hotel of theWorld’ has been conceived with a great sense of style by the O’Hara family of the Coral Reef Club. Recent upgrades have upped Sandpiper’s standards even further and its many repeat guests are queuing up to take occupancy of the Tree Top Suites with their plunge pools and beautifully-conceived interiors.

Other accommodation choices on offer at this exclusive west coast retreat include individually-appointed guest rooms or spacious one and two-bedroom suites; everywhere boasting comforts like fridges, toasters and marble bathrooms, the suites also featuring fully-equipped kitchens and expansive living rooms. Their low-rise West Indian architecture is fittingly complemented by their island-style interiors, whilst their private patios or balconies overlook either the lush gardens, sparkling swimming pool or nearby Caribbean Sea.

The daytime plan here is all about relaxation, whether upon the beach or by the pool, both of which are just steps away from cooling tropical drinks. Indeed The Sandpiper takes great pride in its high standards of personal service, morning sorbets served on the beach and freshly-baked cookies left in the rooms at turn-down.

The list of complimentary activities on offer includes tennis and water sports, with a championship golf course just a few minutes away and use of the new Coral Reef Spa offered from 15 December, 2008. And in the evenings guests are invited to socialise over aperitifs in the elegant poolside bar before moving through to the stylish alfresco dining
venue, widely acknowledged as one of the finest hotel restaurants on the island. Executive Chef Christophe Poupardin changes the menus daily to ensure freshness and variety, his eclectic dishes taking their inspiration from the Caribbean, Europe and Orient.
