Le Touessrok surely ranks as one of the world’s finest beach resorts. Not only does its unique tropical setting and charming Mediterranean design create a relaxing ambience tailor-made for the romantics amongst you, but it also offers a first-class array of sporting and dining options sure to keep everyone in the family happy.
It sits on the east coast of Mauritius and is famously spread out over the mainland and no less than three off-shore islands - Frangipani which is reached via a wooden bridge and Ile aux Cerfs and Ilot Mangénie which are only accessed by exhilarating boat rides across the lagoon. Guests can choose between rooms, junior suites and ocean suites, some of themlocated on themainland and others on the island of Frangipani, although wherever they stay contemporary designs, ocean views and 24-hour butler service come as standard.
The extensive recreational and dining facilities are distributed throughout the resort. The cuisine of no less than nine different countries is offered in Three-Nine-Eight, Indian fare is presented in Safran, whilst Barlens specialises in east-meets-west dishes. A couple of ‘feet-in-the-sand’ venues are perfect for seafood or salads at lunchtime.
And of course the leisure facilities are equally impressive. The resort boasts its own Peter Burwash International Tennis Club, a Givenchy Spa and a long list of water sports including water skiing and windsurfing at no cost, as well as scuba-diving and deep-sea fishing at local charges. Those wanting to play a round can take advantage of the championship Le Touessrok Golf Course designed by Bernhard Langer.
