Sir Richard Branson’s private home, it’s where Hollywood superstars enjoy respite from their fast-paced lifestyles and where you and your family can also spend quality time together – up to 28 guests can rent the island at any one time. And what an island it is. Sizewise it’s a manageable 74-acres, whilst scenically it’s spectacular; the tranquil Caribbean lapping against white sands on one side and the Atlantic crashing down on the indented shoreline on the other.

Of course, Sir Richard went out of his way to ensure his estate did full justice to these paradisiacal surroundings. Local craftsmen wove the bamboo ceilings, hardwood timber beams were brought from Brazil, whilst the furnishings and fabrics were sourced in Bali. The result is an exotic masterpiece that also feels surprisingly homely. The 9 ensuite bedrooms of the main house boast sweeping ocean views, the common living area is anything but common, whilst outside is a stone terrace from which water cascades into an enormous swimming pool. A short stroll away lie three Balinese-style houses and two
Bali rooms. Guests are invited to make themselves completely at home here. Use of all the recreational facilities is included in the price, including the gymnasium, two floodlit tennis courts and water sports that range from windsailing and kite surfing to water skiing and Hobie Getaways. And, of course, dining is a real occasion at any time of the day, from sushi lunches by the pool to Mediterranean specialities on the terrace, not to mention barbecue dinners on the beach.

ACCESS: via boat from Tortola or Virgin Gorda. Helicopter transfer also available from neighbouring islands.
