The brainchild of Jaci and Jan van Heteren, these two beautifully-designed lodges are
located in the Madikwe Game Reserve on the edge of the Marico River. And whilst Safari Lodge was conceived to blend in with these wild surroundings, its main lodge constructed around an ancient termite mound and its guest rooms built with shaggy thatched roofs, all the little things are in place to ensure a memorable stay. Where better than your private deck for watching the animals strolling past for a drink, for example? Otherwise the game drives, swimming pool and gym entertain you during the day, evening highlights the dinners served in the boma or outside in the bush. As an exciting alternative, the nearby Tree Lodge offers ‘tree houses’ stilted 6 metres off the ground, raised wooden walkways connecting them to the Main Lodge with its open-plan lounge, bar and dining area.
