The Beach House manafaru Maldives
The Beach House at Manafaru Maldives

Sleek, contemporary and sexy, The Beach House opened in February 2008 with the promise of Asianstyle
simplicity, Maldivan-style hospitality and global good taste. And when these things also come with a
utopian setting in the lushHaa Alifu Atoll, not tomention exciting little extras like individual pools, roving Sorbet Butlers and two private islands (one that turtles like to call home) then it seems like a recipe for success.

Sophisticated yet understated, the accommodation is set right on the beach or stilted over the lagoon. If you opt for the former you’ll probably fall in love with your villa with its exotic pool, outdoor bathtub and private beach cabana, but you’re sure to be completely swept away by the additional space on offer in the suites. The over-water villas feature infinity-edge pools, glasspaneled floors for observing marine life and steps into the lagoon if you want to get that bit closer, whilst twobedroom Grand Water and Grand Beach Pavilions are available for those fancying additional refinements like steam rooms and Jacuzzis. Everyone gets their own personal butler, of course.

When it comes to dining, Austrian chef Egon Aichinger prepares one-of-a-kind dishes in three restaurants
(Four Corners for international fare, Medium Rare for à la carte grills and Saffron for Asian-fusion cuisine) although there’s nothing to stop you enjoying a ‘personalised dining experience’ on the beach or in your villa. The usual Maldivian leisure options which include a rainforest-style spa, PADI dive centre and non-motorised water sports are sexed up with martial arts lessons and a virtual golf simulator!
